Goldie is a falafel shop thirteen years in the making. Ever since Zahav opened in 2008, guests have been asking when falafel would appear on the menu. On April Fools Day 2017, without warning, Goldie opened its doors. But it was no joke.
Like the best falafel shops in Israel, Goldie focuses on one thing and sticks to the basics. Light and crispy falafel balls are fried to order and carefully stuffed into pita made down the street at Dizengoff. Chopped salad, cabbage and tehina join the party, along with your choice of condiments: Spicy Schug, earthy Harissa or funky Amba. Carb-conscious guest can skip the pita in favor of a falafel salad with date-lemon vinaigrette.
Shawarma-spiced French fries and Tehina shakes complete a meal that is so satisfying, you won't believe it's vegan. And Goldie is kosher, too.
In 2021, Goldie opened its fourth location in the Fishtown neighborhood of Philadelphia.
